7 things you must take when going tent camping

Going tent camping is a perfect way to relax from everyday duties and challenges. Fewer stressful stimuli and unlimited contact with nature positively influence mental resilience. However, in order to ensure that the blissful state of relaxation lasts throughout the whole trip, it is worthwhile to put together appropriate equipment.

When going tent camping, packing is one of the most important points of the whole trip. The items you take with you will accompany you for the next few days. And those that you forget will surely be dearly remembered.

Outdoor equipment can be divided into three basic categories: mandatory, optional and unnecessary. If you can do without an item, it is optional. Can you imagine the whole trip without it? Then it is completely unnecessary.

If you forget anything from the second or third group, your trip will still be successful. But if you fail to pack an item belonging to the basic equipment, then a fun camp can turn into a fight for survival.

Holidays during the times of COVID-19

Faced with the global pandemic, more and more tourists are travelling within Polish borders. They usually choose hotel offers tempting with comfort or campsites with an appealing price. If you belong to the latter group, you are probably aware of the pros of the campsite, so let's get down to preparations right away.

Start by making a list of the equipment you plan to take with you. This will minimise the risk of you forgetting something important. When your equipment list is ready, check it for transport possibilities. When travelling by car, you can take more clumsy items than when travelling by train. In addition, if you plan to camp in different places, marching from point A to point B, make sure that your backpack is not too heavy and stuffed. Uncomfortable luggage will make walking difficult.

What should be on your list?

Camping mat– absolutely basic item without which it is better not even to put up a tent. This piece of foam will provide you with effective insulation. When you put a foam camping mat under your sleeping bag or mattress, you can be sure that you won't wake up sore, sleepy and with the likelihood of an impending cold. You can choose a roll-up camping mat if you want to put your mattress on top of it or a self-inflatingsleeping mat to provide you with equally high comfort.

Sleeping bag - a good sleeping bag will give you maximum comfort at night. Even if you travel in summer, you should not leave it out of your luggage. For warm months, choose a lightweight sleeping bag that will take up less space than its down equivalent for winter.

Camping pillow -  if you don't sleep without a pillow at home, you probably won't be under the tent, either. Forget about taking your favourite pillow from your bedroom with you. It's not handy and it may not be the same when you get back. An inflatable camping pillow, taking up as much space as a packet of handkerchiefs when deflated, will do much better on a camping site.

Tableware - if you are planning to eat anything more than just a dry lunch with water drank straight from the bottle, think about a set of dishes. Camping tableware does not take up much space. Regardless whether you choose traditional aluminium mess kits or more modern silicone ones folding like a harmonica - a set of tableware is something you will thank yourself for at every meal.

Camping stove – if you build a bonfire, you can grill a sausage, and with some effort you can even boil some water for coffee. The question is, will you have enough strength to do it throughout the whole trip? Making a bonfire for each meal for a few days in a row can tire even the most seasoned camping lovers. Instead, when going camping, take with you a light TS265 camping stove, which weighs no more than XX kg. Why? Because its operation does not require a preparation period of 15 or more minutes needed to build a bonfire. It is weather-independent and extremely handy - packed in a comfortable and shock-resistant suitcase. It is perfect for preparing your favourite dishes in nature.

LED light - when the sun sets over the horizon and the last spark in your bonfire goes out, your camp will slip into darkness. A torch from your phone can be a temporary lifesaver, but when the battery also blows out, the XXX lumens TS690-3 LED lamp will be irreplaceable. Operating for up to 30 hours, it will give you exactly as much light as you need for your evening bathroom routine or for reading a book before bedtime. And thanks to its handy construction finished with a comfortable handle, you can easily hang it in the tent.

Fire steel -  while you know how long a bonfire can burn, you should consider how to start it effectively. If you don't have waterproof matches at hand and you've been planning an evening with singing of chanties - don't break down. A fire steel will do just as well as a lighter. With just a few efficient moves, dozens of sparks will breathe a pleasant, warm glow into your bonfire.

With such complete equipment you are ready for a real tent adventure. Of course, you can freely modify the above list by adding items that you can't do without. Remember that you will spend a few nights on the campsite and you must feel good there.
