Why is it worth it to take a camping stove when going tent camping?
Going tent camping means you consciously give up certain hotel amenities for the sake of adventure and independence. Of course, not all of them. Morning coffee can still be your ritual if you take a camping stove with you.
Campsites are increasingly becoming holiday destinations of choice for Poles. Especially in times of the global pandemic, when crowded hotel swimming pools seem not to be the best option. Contact with nature, escape from civilization's chaos and limited contact with strangers are only some of the reasons why holiday makers choose camping instead of several-star comforts. However, when making such a decision, it is good to be aware of all advantages and disadvantages of camping.
Why is it worth it to go tent camping?
The factors that most often determine the choice of an outdoor holiday are: full independence and adventure. When tent camping, you don't have to adapt your daily schedule to any schedule forced upon you. Forget about cutting your trip short to make it home for dinner served until 7.30pm. Here you set the meal times yourself. And if you have a TS265 gas camping stove with you, your meals don’t have to be much different from those served in a hotel restaurant.
Forget about a temporary renovation of the most attractive part of the hotel or the staff knocking on your door too early. While tent camping, you are the one planning your day. From the first hour after waking up to the last minute before falling asleep, you are completely independent.
And if that still doesn’t convince you - take a look at your budget. To go tent camping, even for two weeks, you don't need to use the funds you have saved for the rainy day. The cost of renting a campsite pitch does not usually exceed 20-30 PLN, which is not an exorbitant rate compared to average hotel prices, especially for a family of several people.
When to give up camping?
Of course, tent camping is not only about morning coffee with a view of the mountain peaks. There are days when you have to reckon with the vagaries of the weather and hide beautiful memories at the bottom of your backpack. That's why it's best if you plan your holiday in a weather window when rain or low temperatures at night are not foreseen. Even then, however, you should be prepared for a sudden weather breakdown. A waterproof jacket or a rainproof tent cover doesn't take up much space in your luggage and can save your holidays in case of unplanned rainfall.
And if the weather doesn't scare you, don't forget to get a tent with a mosquito net and pack up a mosquito and tick repellent. Warm months are a particularly intense period for insects and if they are not able to spoil your trip, they can certainly make it difficult. Don't forget to keep your tent closed in the afternoons and evenings. This will help you avoid uninvited guests at night.
Camping stove - basic equipment or a whim?
If you have managed to visualise the potential benefits that await you while camping and the difficulties do not impress you, it is time to look at your equipment. We have discussed this in detail here, so we will only focus on the equipment that guarantees hot drinks and meals - a gas camping stove.
You may have come across internet opinions claiming that tent camping with a camping stove is not real camping. This is, of course, a complete nonsense, because even the Himalayan climbers who climb the highest peaks of the world, carry with them a handy stove in which they melt the snow. So if you were wondering if there should be a camping stove in your equipment, there is only one possible answer – YES, DEFINITELY.
A gas camping stove of a design such as TS-265 guarantees comfortable and completely safe cooking. Separate chamber for gas cartridges and tube-free design eliminate the risk of gas leakage. And the automatic piezoelectric ignition system of the stove makes it possible to light a fire even in unfavourable weather conditions.
The TS-265 stove is powered by a handy 400ml cartridge, which even fits into the bottle compartment of your backpack. The stove itself has a dedicated, shock- and scratch-resistant 31 x 35 x 9 cm suitcase. Thanks to such a compact design it can be placed anywhere in your car.
Time to leave!
Going tent camping is always an incredible adventure, both for beginners and experienced outdoor activities lovers. Full independence, close contact with nature and low costs of the whole trip make more and more people decide to spend their holidays this way. Escaping from the civilization's chaos helps to take a break from professional challenges and everyday stress.
If you include such items as the TS-265 camping stove in your luggage, you may not even notice the lack of amenities offered by hotels. Morning coffee in the sunshine, well-balanced lunch or dinner at any time of your choicemakes a strong competition for a canteen buffet and the accompanying queues. And at a much better price.
